Nov. 23rd 2002 (Sat) 7PM, a party show ! @ the Kansas House
11/23/02 Psychplosion's first show. A friend from Robert in Byokie, named Mike, came to
practice for a week and learned all our stuff on bass and did the show at the last
moment. We did covers of Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix. The show was shared with the
Teardrops and Byokie. Teardrops was absolutely awesome and Matt as usual rolled all
over the floor, and had to borrow Kazuko's guitar.
( there is still a little scratch wound from the death acrobatics) Shiho from Byokie
was also the drummer for Teardrops, so all three bands used the Psychoplosion drum
kit. All three bands were videotaped by Greg, and some excerpts are available on the
Byokie/Psychoplosion DVD .
Feb 17th 2003 (Mon) President Day 9:45PM
We are so sorry that the show has been cancelled because of the snow storm.
The show is to be re-scheduled, so stay tuned ! Galaxy Hut, Arlington, VA.
April 18th (Fri) 12:00AM ( mid-night late show ! )
May 7th (Wed) 9:00PM Grog and Tankard
With Ted on bass, greg had just quit smoking and
was chewing on nicorette gum the whole evening,
he had a byokie t-shirt on for the show. Phillip
Dang came and did a digital video of both byokie
and psychoplosion. Only show that greg brought
his blue see-through ludwig kit. Shiho and greg
both agreed, they liked the old purple swirl
ludwig kit better.
May 23rd (Fri) 8:00PM Grog D.C.
Huge rainstorm during the day, greg had to get drums in early for set up, so got
soaked. As soon as all the drums were in, the rain stopped. Yuko got caught in the
downpour also, but had brought a hair dryer. Greg was back to smoking. Phillip came
again and made digital video of both byokie and psychoplosion, with ted again on bass.
Great audience.
July 2nd (Wed) 9:00PM Royal Lee, Arlington, VA.
With byokie and maple.
July 26th (Sat) 8:00PM Grog D.C.
Yuko had a flat tire on the way to the show, but still made it on time
August 9th (Sat) 10:00PM Grog D.C.
A very good show and great audience response after our set. This fourth show at the
grog was without a bass player
August 15th (Fri) 10:00PM Velvet Lounge, Wash D.C. w/Rockmaster General
If yuko hadn't showed up to be in our audience, we would have been all by ourselves.
One of those shows where you just play to the other bands. We opened and there was less
than 10 people in the audience. Kazuko's amp tubes blew after the first half of the
first song. Still had a great show though, and the sound was excellent, using the p.a.
to boost the blown out guitar.
Sept 6th (Sat) Laughing Lizard Lounge, Alexandria, VA. w/Byokie
This was probably psychoplosion's best show, the sound was awesome and the energy and
feeling was transforming. When we first got there, it was very hot, and no fans could
be found (elctrical appliances-not people, they would come later). It was dark,
sticky, dank and gloomy. Stale beer and old cigarette smoke, it looked to be a real
dump. Once things got rolling though, it was incredible. The staff were very nice,
everyone had a blast, and psychoplosion was asked to sign their first ever autographs.
WOW, we were so turned on.
